When all the shows and dances disappeared in 2020, The Riffers began a remote video series, called REMOTE RIFFING. The accompanying audio for all 12 numbers is available on Bandcamp. Featuring over 30 musicians, A BULL CITY HOLIDAY is seasonal album that celebrates the talent in and around Durham, NC. With 11 original songs, the album explores themes of winter weather, romance, and even a bit of Christmas history. The instrumentation ranges from small combos to big band, and the lyrics endeavor to evoke warm feelings while staying fresh and current with the times.
FORGED IN RHYTHM
Rooted in the swing of the 1930s and 40s, FORGED IN RHYTHM is a debut effort designed with dancing in mind. Featuring talent from both coasts, this project was recorded mostly live in a unique weekend session in Los Angeles. The album is comprised of 15 original compositions, including tributes to the small group recordings of Lester Young, Artie Shaw, Illinois Jacquet, and Benny Goodman. Enjoy!
